Welcome to my blog. My name is Maiysha Johnson and I’m a Online Business Marketer, Mentor & Success Coach.
I was born in Washington DC and raised in Landover, Maryland. I currently reside in Morningside, MD near Andrews AFB with my wonderful husband Larnell and our dogs Blue, Shadow and Storm.
How I Discovered Entrepreneurship…
When I was growing up as a young teenager, I discovered I had a gift for styling hair. Not only was I cutting and styling my own hair, but my first clients were my sisters. I did their hair to test my skills, as well as for school pictures and special events. As I worked on and crafted my hair talent even more, I acquired quite the clientele in the neighborhood where I resided. I was going from house to house doing hair and making money and that’s when I discovered entrepreneurship.
My Temporary Chosen Career Path…
Fast forward to 1997, I was introduced to the world of Accounting. Over the next 20 yrs, I would work for various Gov’t Contractors as well as a few small business in their Accounting Dept., holding various positions ranging from A/P Clerk to Senior Accountant. In 2004 I decided to go back to school to acquire a degree in Accounting. I spent 5yrs at Strayer University acquiring a AA in Accounting in 2006, and a BBA with a concentration in Management in 2009. While all that might sound great, I found myself unfulfilled. I was trading my time for money, and that wasn’t the life I wanted for myself or my family. I wanted to be free of the old ball and chain of a 9-5. I wanted to be free to do what I wanted to do, on my own terms. I wanted to start building my dreams and stop helping others build theirs. My entrepreneurial spirit was dying to come out and at this point, I would do anything to gain my freedom.
The Decisions That Changed My Life…
While I was completing my BBA at Strayer University, a friend approached me with a business opportunity. At the time I didn’t see the value in the opportunity because I was blinded by studying, papers and exams. I simply told my friend that I didn’t have the time to listen to or to take a look at their business opportunity. Six months later the same friend approached me yet again about the same business opportunity, but this time things were different. I listened to what my friend had to say and my husband and I attended the business opportunity meeting the following week. I had no idea at the time, but we were being introduced to the industry of network marketing. During the business opportunity meeting we were mesmerized. The business, product and services were a “NO BRAINER”, it was truly an excellent business opportunity. After seeing the business opportunity, my husband and I went home and spoke about the possibilities for hours with excitement. We wasted no time in signing up, and became representatives the very next day. Taking this new leap of faith prompted me to take to make another major decision. In May of 2009, I started my own Professional Multi-Cultural Natural Hair Business www.pph-mj.com, which I run out of the comfort of my home. I started this business during a recession because I knew the value of using my talents and creating leverage in a time where nothing is guaranteed.
Why I Turned To The Internet To Grow My Business…
Initially when I started out in this business I was solely using offline and outdated marketing techniques to grow my business. I was prospecting friends, family & strangers by inviting them to weekly hotel business opportunity meetings, holding home PBR’s and passing out flyers. While I peaked a lot of interest and sponsored a few, I wasn’t getting the results I hoped for. I decided to turn to the internet for help, and that’s where I found network marketing guru’s who had what I wanted. Like Tracey Walker, Mike Dillard, Cedrick Harris & Jonathan Budd just to name a few.
I noticed that they all had the same thing in common; they were all using the internet to grow their businesses, and doing this thing called “ATTRACTION MARKETING”. I started to study internet marketing and those guru’s by subscribing to their blogs, newsletters, and purchasing their products. I started using them as my online mentors. I also purchased books, e-books, cd’s, and dvd’s on the subjects and topics, of personal development, attraction marketing, network marketing, direct sales, social media,…you name it. I wanted to know all I could about internet marketing and how to use the internet in the most effective way to grow my business. One of the things that I figured out quickly, was that I had to become a student of the industry first. If you want to be successful in this industry, it was imperative that you understand networking and marketing. A lot of people get into network marketing and all they do is network and then they wonder why they’re not making any money. In this industry “You must become uncomfortable in order to become comfortable”…

So, now that you know who I am, let me tell you how I can help you. I created this blog because I want to share the same resources and information of value with other internet marketers that I use to grow to my businesses. Everything that I share with you on this blog is the direct result of all my studying and implementation of what I’ve learned through my continued study of this industry. The concepts and strategies that I will teach you can be applied to any business, as I apply them to my natural hair business. I don’t want you to be like 95% of all network marketers who fail in this industry due to the lack of real training. So if your trainable, coachable, teachable and have the desire to learn, study and take action, then its my pleasure to assist you.
